A NEW SEASON OF EXCITING MUSIC PROGRAMMING FOR YOUR STUDENTS!
We are excited to bring a new program to Conway area schools, Made in America: A Musical Journey Through the United States
Join our intrepid violin and cello duo as they explore the rich tapestry of American music! Students will listen to music by some of the great American composers, including Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, and Mark O'Connor. There will also be a section on Arkansas composers, such as Florence Price and William Grant Still, as well as pieces by neglected African-American musicians. Finally, students will learn about the string family, special techniques for bowed instruments, and how to identify different musical genres and styles, including ragtimes, hoe-downs, spirituals, hymns, waltzes, cakewalks, marches, fiddle tunes, rancheras, and blues. The musical demo will be enhanced with a visual component on the classroom screen and the repertoire includes:
2 professional musicians from the Conway Symphony Orchestra will provide interactive educational programs in your classroom. Our musician visitors have received high praise from many of the area elementary and intermediate schools. We know students at your school would enjoy their visit as well. This program is funded by Conway Corp and our donors, so there is absolutely NO cost to your school.
Students will be engaged with games and activities that support their learning. As always, we invite you to combine classes for a visit with other classroom teachers or your media specialist. The program is approximately 30 minutes, including time for questions.
Demos are available beginning November 2, 2026 but we are available to send musicians to your class at anytime throughout the year! Class visits work best with groups of 25-50 kids, and we appreciate your help in scheduling back-to-back visits at your school for multiple classes/grade levels.

The fantastic music of the CSO doesn’t just belong in the hall, it belongs out on the town!
CSO on the Go is our community outreach program, sending small ensembles out to community events to share the excitement of live, symphony music. We do performances in hospital lobbies, assisted living centers, library concerts, and more. We’re also a part of Chamber of Commerce luncheons and Downtown Partnership city-wide events like the Christmas tree lighting.
We partner frequently with other nonprofits – our musicians have performed at such events as ArtsFest, Arbor Day, and the Conway Human Development Center Polar Express. If you have an event that is open to the community (and is not a fundraiser,) and you’d like to share the music of the CSO, please contact us! We provide a 30-minute performance at no cost to the host, thanks to our donors and sponsors who support our community outreach programs.
